19 Nov London Lash Eyelash Extensions
Enhance your features and get natural-looking, dramatic and full eyelashes with London Lash eyelash extensions – now available at Philip Johnson Salon/Spa!
At Philip Johnson, we offer the Classic 1:1 lashes for the most natural look. A 25-minute consultation is required before booking an appointment. The consultation is $25 and is deducted from your service total. If our technician determines you are not a candidate, you will not be charged. At your consultation, our technician will conduct an allergy and patch test, go over before and after care instructions, answer any questions you may have and help you schedule your service appointment. While a consultation can be scheduled any day of the week during normal business hours, the lash service can only be scheduled on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
The lash service will last approximately 2 hours. Before leaving your service appointment, you will need to schedule a mandatory fill appointment for 3 weeks later to determine how your lashes are doing and provide you with extra extensions if needed. The lash fill service will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete. The cost of the fill is $75, unless 40% or more of your lashes are gone, which will constitute a new full set for $150. Lash fill service appointments can only be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are synthetic eyelashes applied to natural eyelashes. The purpose of this application process is to create a fuller, darker lash line that looks natural and feels like your own eyelashes. The eyelash extensions are applied to your natural eyelashes and not your skin. Each client receives a customized set of eyelash extensions matched for their particular eye shape, natural eyelash health and lifestyle.
How long do eyelash extensions last and how do I maintain them?
Your natural eyelashes go through a shedding phase like the rest of the hair on your body. As your natural eyelashes shed, a new lash will grow in its place. Depending on how well you take care of your extensions, you will need to come in for a fill appointment every 2-4 weeks to maintain the volume of your eyelash extensions. New eyelash extensions are applied to the new growth during the fill appointment.
Do eyelash extensions damage your natural lashes?
No! Just like your hair, eyelashes grow in cycles. Extensions are placed on the natural lashes that are in the end stage of the growth cycle. Placing extensions on lashes that have just grown is when they can become damaged. Why does the application process take so long? A well-trained eyelash technician will isolate one natural eyelash to adhere to the synthetic eyelash extensions. Each individual has 90-120 natural eyelashes per eye on average so the process of isolating natural eyelashes one by one is a lengthy process. This process ensures that the health of your natural eyelashes is not compromised.
How do I clean my eyelash extensions?
You will dry your lashes by patting them gently and then brushing with a clean mascara wand. It is very important that you keep oil off of your lashes as well as clean your lashes daily for better retention using baby shampoo. This will also ensure you do not get an eye infection.
Before + After Care
- Arrive at your appointment with NO makeup or oil-based moisturizers
- After care is very important for producing a beautiful and lasting result
- Do NOT get your lashes wet for 24 hours – this allows time for the glue to completely dry
- Do NOT steam your lashes for 48 hours – no hot showers, sauna, steam room or steaming facials
- Do NOT sleep with your face directly into the pillow
- Do NOT use mascara or liquid eyeliner – it is not recommended, but use an oil-free or water based product
- Do NOT perm or tint your lashes
- Do NOT use eyelash curlers – they will break the glue bond
- Avoid oils, creams and foundation around your lashes and eyelids – these products will loosen the bond
- Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes – this may remove your natural lashes and create gaps
