MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that forces new collagen and elastin production by creating uniform micro-injuries on the skin. An electronic, cylindrical pen-like device with
small needles is swept across the face to elicit these micro-injuries. The skin responds to these injuries by naturally creating new collagen and elastin. When these two proteins ar present at their optimal levels, they help heal your skin. This makes the overall appearance of a treated area look younger, smoother and tighter.
Microneedling has an extensive list of benefits that can help with a variety of common skin concerns. In addition to treating existing skin concerns, microneedling is a great anti-aging preventative treatment. Commonly treated conditions include acne/acne scars, sun/dark spots and discoloration, large pores, lines and wrinkles, poor elasticity, uneven texture
and skin dullness.
The FDA has two categories for microneedling treatments, cosmetic or medical, and it is based on the needle penetration depth. Cosmetic microneedling is a depth of 0.3mm or less whereas medical is anything above that depth. During your consultation, our staff Nurse Practitioner will go over your skin concerns and guide you on which depth would be best to reach your goals.

| What to expect during your treatment | |
| An appointment lasts about an hour including consultation and prep time.
Numbing cream will be applied to relieve any discomfort. Most people do not require numbing for cosmetic microneedling. If you are very sensitive, we recommend adding a dermaplane exfoliation to your treatment beforehand to enhance the absorption of the numbing cream. Your forehead and upper lip areas are the most sensitive. | |
| What to expect after treatment | |
| You will have some mild redness and your skin may feel warm and tight for the first 24-48 hours.
Some light peeling may occur a few days after treatment. Your skin is regenerating so it is important to be very gentle with your skin. For the first 48 hours, avoid hot steamy showers, hot tubs, sun exposure and make sure to use sunscreen at all times. Avoid harsh products, exfoliants or actives, including retinol, vitamin-c and salicylic acid. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. Full results will be visible 4-6 weeks after treatment. | |
| Treatment plan for best results | |
| The number of treatments needed for desired results will depend on the areas you are having treated and the current state of the skin. As with any cosmetic procedure, results with microneedling vary from person to person. The most common treatment plans require 3-6 sessions, but more may be needed if you are planning to treat deep scars or stretch marks. If you already have good skin and a regular skin care regimen, one treatment may be enough to see great results.
For those requiring multiple treatments, they are typically done 4-6 weeks apart. For those that do not need a series of treatments to start, we recommend 2-4 treatments per year to continue to build and improve the skin. | |

We offer competitive pricing compared to most med spas. The number of units/syringes required will be different for everyone based on the desired outcome. During the consultation, your provider will discuss your goals and concerns and will help develop a customized treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and help you choose the right filler or neurotoxin for your desired outcome. Your appointment will last approximately 30-45 minutes for consultation and treatment.
